Mike CzaikowskiMike’s current responsibilities are to provide owners side oversite/reviews for all process engineering deliverables on the Badlands AO Project. Mike will also provide guidance required for the Process Studies needed to further define the AO project, especially in regards to overpressure/flaring systems.

Professional engineer with proven record of accomplishment as process lead engineer / process manager on engineering projects and as a relief system design / PSM expert. Recognized for skills in budgeting and scheduling process engineering and relief system design activities, and in supervising an engineering team in preparation of process engineering deliverables. Majority of experience earned in a twenty-year stint with
Bechtel from 1990 to 2010.
  • Recently retired from position of Process Group Manager for Samsung Engineering America
  • Industry experience includes 37 years in the design of petrochemical, refining and chemical projects.
  • Spent majority of career in the Process Design group at Bechtel’s Houston office.
  • Expert in relief system design, overpressure protection and process safety management.
  • Successfully developed process design basis and process packages in collaboration with client engineering representatives for companies including Shell, Chevron, Exxon, LyondellBasell, Sasol, Hoffmann-La Roche.
  • With Samsung Engineering successfully coordinated preparation of process package and FEED deliverables with a High Value Engineering Center, which resulted in preparation of the engineering packages at a significantly reduced cost.

Achievements
  • For Samsung Engineering America (SEA), recognized success in leading the process team on LyondellBasell POTBA Project led to additional scope several times larger than original project scope.
  • With SEA, successfully coordinated preparation of process package and FEED deliverables with a High Value Engineering Center, which resulted in preparation of the engineering packages at a significantly reduced cost.
  • Managed the successful effort to obtain ISO certification for SEA Houston office.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in Texas.
  • Lead editor of rewrite of Bechtel Relief System Design Guide in 2005.
