John TaitJohn's current responsibilities are to provide management oversite to ensure the proper technical execution for all Badlands projects. This work includes involvement in contractor selection, site evaluation, permitting, sub-contractor evaluation and technical review of licensor deliverables.

SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE:
Recently retired from position of COO/CTO for the Houston office of Samsung Engineering.

Hired in June 2008 to build a Front End Engineering Design (FEED) office in Houston to support Samsung Engineering’s global operations.

Industry experience includes thirty-six years in the design and start-up of polymers, organic chemicals and oil and gas processing facilities. Served for 12 years as the Manager (KBR side) of a Process Design Alliance group between KBR and Chevron Phillips Chemical (CPChem). This group provided Process Design and Feed Package development for all CPChem Polyethylene projects worldwide. Final assignment at Chevron Phillips Chemical was the overall complex Process Engineering Manager for the FEED design of the NCP petrochemical Complex in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. This complex included a 1220 kta Ethylene Unit with Metathesis and Pygas, 2 x 550 kta PE Units, a 400 kta PP Unit, 2 x 100 kta Polystyrene Units, 100 kta hexene unit and all the offsites & utilities. Served as process engineer, systems engineer and commissioning engineer on a 900 MMSCFD turbo-expander plant and 32,000 BPSD crude stabilization plant early in career. Has worked on a variety of processes including polyethylene, polypropylene, refining, MTBE, Cumene/Phenol, NGL Recovery, LNG, ethylene, BetaCarotene and others. John has 11 patents related to Polyolefins technology.
